Job Description

The Associate Director, Commercial Development, Established Products drives commercial strategy and execution for the Authorized Generic portfolio. This leader identifies growth opportunities, shapes lifecycle and portfolio strategies, and mobilizes cross-functional teams to deliver revenue, profitability, and long-term business value via Authorized Generics.  In addition, the leader works with the Established Products Commercial team to liaison with the Operations team ensuring seamless coordination and alignment on supply and may act as brand lead for specific branded products within EPIC as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as AbbVie’s AG thought leader and manage the AG portfolio with a proactive approach of identifying incremental opportunities and proactively identifying and mitigating risk.
  • Lead evaluation and forecasting of all new AG opportunities.  Make supportable recommendations to the organization.
  • Partner with operations, market access, Govt pricing and other stakeholders to ensure successful launches of new AG brands
  • Partner with finance and Established Brands Head of Marketing to ensure AG financial forecasts are accurate and reliable
  • Lead the negotiation of new AG contracts (and re-negotiate existing agreements as needed) with Legal and other partners to drive maximum value for AbbVie
  • Foster productive relationships with AbbVie’s AG partners.  Continuously search for new partnerships (or enhance current ones) to drive additional profitability
  • Serve as the primary Established Brands commercial advisor to Operations, helping prioritize and align support against business & patient needs. Partner with EPIC brand leads, Head of Marketing and operations to ensure ADS submissions are accurate and well balanced contemplating both continuity of supply and potential obsolescence.
  • Proactively identify emerging opportunities and business challenges, and drive alignment across stakeholders to execute solutions for the AG portfolio.
  • Provide clear, proactive updates to leadership on progress, risks, decisions, and outcomes.
  • Based on business needs, this individual may act as brand lead for specific assets within Established Products branded portfolio
  • Ensure all activities are fully aligned with corporate and divisional policies and procedures.

Scope & Relationships
This role works closely with Established Products Therapeutic Leads, US Specialty Marketing Leads, external agencies, third-party partners, and internal partners across Operations, Pricing, Market Research, Forecasting, Legal, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory Affairs.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in marketing, sales, and/or operations
  • 5+ years of healthcare experience
  • 2+ years of management experience
  • Strong leadership presence with demonstrated capability in strategic thinking, collaboration, innovation, analytical rigor, communication, adaptability, and integrity
