Job Description

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

Support the management of the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) system, maintaining the standards and requirements established by the company.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conduct walkthroughs in the different areas of the plant to timely and proactively identify occupational and environmental risks and ensure compliance with the EHS programs under their responsibility. 
  2. Follow up on accident investigations and generate corrective actions as a result. 
  3. Develop and implement ideas assigned through the plant’s Ideas Program and Good Observations. 
  4. Manage the implementation of recommendations in different areas to reduce or eliminate the top 5 risks identified in the Risk Mapping. 
  5. Assign and follow up on EHS corrective actions (CAPAs) through the ALLEHS system. 
  6. Report and update accident rate charts. 
  7. Update the EHS information board. 
  8. Implement, maintain, and improve corporate EHS programs and national requirements. 
  9. Follow up on and participate in Occupational Health Committee meetings, as well as coordinate and ensure compliance with Occupational Health Commission inspections. 
  10. Provide training in special tasks (Contractor safety / Personal protective equipment / Forklifts and hydraulic platforms). 
  11. Ensure compliance with corporate and legal EHS requirements through adherence to policy and internal procedures. Likewise, ensure compliance by adopting strategies, internal controls, communication, and necessary training. 
  12. Support EHS initiatives during key events such as EHS Week, Occupational Health Days, blood drives, among others. 
  13. Coordinate self-assessments or internal audits of the EHS system assigned to their responsibility. 
  14. Verify, identify, and perform risk assessments of the entire facility, new equipment, and/or infrastructure changes; develop controls and ensure implementation. 
  15. Ensure updates to the various plans established by national legislation. 
  16. Continuously improve EHS results through leadership, commitment, and participation in all EHS-related initiatives. 
  17. Provide support in facility/product/process change management and planning. 
  18. Perform all other duties inherent to the position and those assigned by the respective manager. 

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Degree in Occupational Safety and Environmental Hygiene Engineering, Occupational Health, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Occupational Health and Environment.
  • Desirable experience in the Medical industry environment.

Other Professional Skills

Required:

  • ISO 14001 – OHSAS 18001 Management Systems
  • English level: 70%–80%
  • Experience dealing with regulatory bodies

Desired:

  • Quality/regulated systems (GMP, QSR, FDA, CAPA, ISO)
  • Office, Visio, Project, One Vault, Compliance Wire, SAP
  • Operational Excellence and Process Improvement
