This position is part of AbbVie's Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) team within Business Technology Solutions. The Identity & Access Management (IAM) team is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of the organization's IAM strategy, ensuring secure, efficient, and compliant access to systems and data. The IAM team supports all verticals including User Lifecycle Management, Privileged Account Management, Directory Services, MFA/Federation/SSO, Access Certifications, Role Based Access Control, External Identity Management, and Application & System Integration. In the role of Program Manager, Identity & Access Management, you'll tackle complex challenges as you develop and diversify your professional experiences while helping others grow and develop their skills.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Leading the strategy, execution, and governance of multi-year IAM transformation initiatives across the enterprise
  • Defining program objectives, success criteria, and roadmaps to deliver technology capabilities and process enhancements for IAM
  • Managing large, cross-functional project teams—including technical, business, and vendor resources—across multiple workstreams
  • Overseeing the implementation of IAM solutions, including onboarding of applications, privileged access management (PAM), identity lifecycle management, and access governance
  • Driving change management efforts to achieve broad business adoption and process optimization, including stakeholder engagement, training, and communications
  • Collaborating with IT, Security, Compliance, HR, and business units to ensure seamless integration and alignment with other enterprise programs
  • Identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks and issues affecting program delivery, scope, and adoption
  • Managing program budgets, financials, vendor contracts, and resource allocations
  • Maintaining high standards in documentation, reporting, and status communication to executive leadership and stakeholders
  • Supporting audit, regulatory compliance (e.g., SOX, GDPR, PCI-DSS), and remediation activities related to IAM
  • Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure program success and drive continuous improvement
  • Developing and enhancing governance frameworks, policies, and process controls for IAM

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree and 7+ years of experience OR Masters Degree and 6+ years of experience or PhD and 2+ years of experience
  • 5+ years of direct experience managing enterprise IAM, cybersecurity, or technology implementation programs
  • Proven track record leading large-scale, multi-disciplinary projects and transformation initiatives
  • Strong experience with change management and driving large-scale organizational adoption
  • Demonstrated ability to engage, influence, and communicate at all levels of the organization, including executives and global stakeholders
  • Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements related to identity and access (SOX, GDPR, PCI, etc.)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities
  • Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, business management, or related discipline

Beneficial:

  • Familiarity with IAM concepts, standards, and leading practices (identity governance, privileged access, SSO, MFA, RBAC, etc.)
  • Experience working with or managing vendors and system integrators delivering IAM or security solutions
  • Advanced degrees or certifications such as PMP, Certified Scrum Master, or IAM/Cybersecurity certifications
