Job Description
We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Scientist to support the development of in vivo pharmacology assays and models for psychiatry drug discovery. The successful candidate will work with behavioral, neurochemical, and electrophysiological technologies to assess circuit-level dynamics relevant to psychiatric indications with an emphasis on depression. This role is an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic and collaborative team focused on investigating circuit dysfunction in psychiatric disorders.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform in vivo experiments leveraging a variety of assays and circuit-based technologies to advance drug development in psychiatry
- Support and assist with development and execution of survival surgery experiments (e.g. stereotactic surgeries)
- Independently generate precise, reliable and reproducible data in a timely manner and keep detailed experimental records
- Analyze data and present results to project teams and other cross-functional teams
- Help design studies, research new models and disease areas of interest
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with typically 3 or more years’ experience or Master’s Degree (no additional experience).
- Hands-on experience with rodent handling, various dosing routes and tissue collection methods.
- Enthusiasm for performing lab-based research to drive discovery efforts in psychiatric disorders
- Ability to analyze and critique results, noting significant deviations
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Desired Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with rodent models for depression, anxiety and/or other psychiatric disorders
- Direct experience with neurocircuit-based approaches especially electrophysiology (e.g. EEG)
- Prior experience in drug discovery, particularly in Psychiatry

Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
