Job Description

It is responsible for preparing rooms, weighing, and distributing materials. It is also responsible for assembling weighing equipment. It is responsible for generating and completing documentation related to these processes and for cleaning the rooms according to established procedures. It is responsible for monitoring alarms in the assigned rooms, hallways, and storage areas. It is also responsible for dispensing materials into bins (IBC), both active ingredients and excipients, in potent drug areas following the electronic record.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for weighing, packing, and distributing material to production areas according to production orders generated by the Planning Department, whether regular product or potent drug.
  • Responsible for cleaning utensils, equipment, and the weighing or mixing room. Maintains the work area clean and organized. Perform decontamination, cleaning of the weighing area, potent drug weighing, assembly and disassembly of equipment, in addition to completing the required steps in the manual or electronic logbook for these tasks.
  • Dispense potent products into bins, including active ingredients and their excipients, following the sequence in the manual or electronic recipe record for these tasks in regular drug areas, potent drug areas, and mixing areas.
  • Uses the POMs system for assigned weighing processes, material dispatch, and material loading.
  • Operates storage equipment such as forklifts, hand trucks, etc. Acts as a Material Handler to supply materials to their area. Occasionally he works as a Material Handler in different areas.
  • Responsible for following safety procedures and equipment assembly verification, as well as the use of auxiliary equipment to load materials and perform nitrogen purging.
  • Responsible for generating and completing documentation related to material weighing, room cleaning according to established procedures, and compliance with GMP regulations.
  • Responsible for following manufacturing order instructions and related procedures, including safety, proper handling, identification, and processing in all assigned areas. Responsible for the quality, productivity, and efficiency of the processes under their charge.
  • Perform other functions and special assignments when required, including training new operators in the correct procedures. Assists IQA personnel in sample collection when necessary.
  • Responsible for monitoring assigned manufacturing room condition alarms and assigned storage area alarms.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent. Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Drug Weigher I.
  • Good knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices. Operation of computerized equipment.
  • Operation of forklifts and/or other material-handling equipment.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic knowledge in the pharmaceutical area or related industry.
  • Basic verbal and written communication skills in Spanish and English.
