Job Description
As the Director of Clinical Supply Systems, you will be a key leader driving technology strategy and execution within Clinical Drug Supply Management (CDSM). You will be responsible for defining and delivering integrated system capabilities that enable reliable, compliant, and efficient global clinical supply operations.
Your role will focus on aligning business priorities with scalable technology solutions, optimizing clinical supply processes, and leveraging data, analytics, and modern platforms to improve visibility, decision‑making, and operational performance. You will lead diverse teams, including managers, employees, and external partners, to deliver solutions that support AbbVie’s clinical portfolio and patient outcomes.
By fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement, you will establish a unified vision for Clinical Supply Systems. Your leadership will empower teams to deliver complex, regulated technology solutions that advance AbbVie’s mission of discovering and delivering life‑changing therapies worldwide.
This leader provides vision and direction for the Clinical Supply Systems function, which delivers and supports technology used to plan, manage, and execute global clinical supply operations. The function owns system strategy, delivery, and lifecycle management, and influences governance models and operating standards across CDSM.
Strategy & Influence: Works with senior Clinical Supply and cross‑functional leadership to develop and execute Clinical Supply Systems strategy. Utilizes technical and business expertise to interpret and apply enterprise solutions across CDSM.
• Process Improvement & Optimization: Drives opportunities to improve business processes and technology through system modernization, data integration, and automation.
• Decisions & Policies: Makes key decisions guided by established strategies and priorities. Influences operating policies, governance models, and procedures affecting Clinical Supply Systems and workflows.
• People Management: Recruits, coaches, and develops managers and senior managers with significant autonomy. Builds organizational capability and leadership depth.
• Process Management: Provides usage optimization and process framework leadership for systems supporting clinical supply planning, execution, inventory, and governance.
• Impact: Makes decisions that significantly influence the future direction of Clinical Supply Systems and global clinical supply operations.
• Resource Management: Responsible for determining Clinical Supply Systems resource strategy and organizational structure.
• Liaison & Relationship Building: Builds collaborative relationships and interacts frequently with senior business and technology leaders on strategic and operational decisions.
• Culture: Consistently demonstrates AbbVie’s Ways of Working and Leadership Attributes, including an enterprise mindset and strong people leadership. Effectively manages performance, provides timely feedback, recognizes achievement, develops talent, and builds a succession pipeline. Understands and executes AbbVie’s vision, goals, and strategies with accountability for results of strategically important functions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry
• Effectively connects functional and employee goals to business and enterprise objectives
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proven ability to drive performance, engagement, and development through coaching and leadership
• Excellent interpersonal, team, and leadership skills, including influencing, decision-making and conflict-resolution skills

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this postingbased on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more orless than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our short-term incentive programs.
