Job Description
This position will be responsible for supporting the strategic contracting and pricing plan established at the affiliate. Primary responsibilities include supporting the strategic objectives of the affiliate by facilitating the creation, maintenance, and management of the rebates contracting process, consistent with established pricing policies/procedures. This position is also responsible for performing utilization analytics, invoicing validation, corresponding dispute resolution, and payment of rebate claims within contracted timelines. Accountable for the overall contracting and pricing compliance as well as performing analysis to understand price discrepancies for contracted products and taking appropriate action, accordingly. Serve as a liaison with the Corporate legal department to ensure support required as per policies from legal is received on a timely manner. Serve as a liaison with the US pricing team to ensure alignment in all Pricing related aspects.
Responsibilities
- Support Finance Manager performing contracting and pricing functions for the affiliate, including but not limited to: ensuring compliance with contracting policies and procedures; supporting the development of systems for the submission and maintenance of all contracts and providing pricing recommendations as well as contract performance analysis. Provide financial support for the quarterly balance sheet review.
- Support the financial analysis and alternative scenarios to develop contracts proposals, including bids, rebates, chargebacks, pricing and collaboration agreements, among others. Participate of Demand and relevant Plan/LRP/LBE meetings in support of rebate analysis. Provide routine and ad hoc financial analysis. Provide a high level of independent support in the initial development and ongoing Actual to Plan reconciliation of all required schedules for Plan/LBE/LRP.
- Support Market Access department in all matters relating to product rebate and other related negotiations to maintain all areas up to date and aware of communications with third party contacts. Including the maintenance of term extensions, amendments, and restatements.
- Accountable for the accuracy, completeness and timely submission of bids and tenders. Ensure all documents required for the bidding process are up to date and available on a timely manner.
- Accountable for the accuracy of our Pricing Master database and the relevant related databases (i.e. Model N). Responsible for the processing of price increases and maintaining the Price Lists up to date in alignment with US prices. Ensure processing and related approvals for changes to price lists and corresponding communication and submission in SAP to ensure most up to date prices are maintained in the system. Ensure that all Contracted & non-Contracted prices are accurately updated in SAP.
- Responsible for reviewing any price discrepancies identified by BPO and properly evaluating and obtaining necessary approvals for any potential Price Change in compliance with policies and procedures. Support special projects as needed, including acquisition integration and system upgrade implementation.
- Analyze requests of commercial contract preparation and provide the contract documents with all negotiated and legal approved terms and conditions. Provide direct support to Commercial divisions with contracts status update and analysis. Monitor contracts terms and dates to ensure proactive and timely action is taken based on contract dates and terms.
- Collect and analyze rebate data monthly to provide information to BPO/FSS, as needed for adjusting accruals. Provide rebate analysis to the Commercial Finance Manager on a monthly basis for review and adjustment of forecasts. Review and prepare payment requests (ACRs) for Rebates and route for corresponding approvals. Review and prepare credit/debit memos for Chargebacks and route for corresponding approvals. Reconcile any discrepancies in chargebacks with support of the Credit Administrator.
- Ensure accuracy of all the contracts & pricing related unbundling reports, debt forgiveness and discount disclosure reporting, as applicable. Prepare and send all required communications (debt forgiveness letters, unbundling letters, etc) as required. Establish and maintain communication with the customers to ensure compliance with related policies and procedures.
- Support Finance Manager in the review and update of all Contracts and Pricing policies and procedures to align to any changing business needs as well as ensure compliance with Corporate/OEC policies and procedures. Support Finance Manager in the preparation and review of the Monthly Rebate Accrual. Identify discrepancies and or insights pertaining to the actuals and elevate to the Financial Planning and Demand Area.
Significant Work Activities:
- Frequent to continuous computer usage (greater or equal to 50% of the workday) is required
- Continuous sitting for prolonged periods (more than 2 consecutive hours in an 8 hr day) is required
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred.
- 3+ years of experience managing chargeback adjudication, Membership and Eligibility determinations, Prescription Rebates processing, Pharmacy Benefit Management, Managed Health Care and Medicaid Drug Rebate Program.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret legal documents, financial reports, and technical documents. Strong analytical skills, including analysis of utilization and market share data for rebate agreements.
- Highly motivated self-starter who can translate broad directions into high quality analytical output. Capable of handling multiple priorities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication and presentation skills in both English and Spanish. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Individual must be self-motivated with great follow-up skills and be able to work independently. The incumbent is expected to assume full responsibility for the review and analysis of major projects with minimal supervision and technical guidance.
- Ability to be flexible and quickly adapt to changing business needs and processes.
- Ability to proactively and creatively solve problems. Strong organizational skills with ability to handle various tasks, attention to detail.
- Proficient PC software (Microsoft) and various database applications. Intermediate to advanced knowledge in Excel and SAP; Model N and Qlikview knowledge preferable.
