Job Description

Purpose

The Associate Director, RTR Costing, Inventory and Systems will provide direction, guidance, and governance on Abbvie’s RTR worldwide business processes and systems. In particular, this role will be responsible for global processes pertaining to costing, inventory, STOs, Integrated Master Data and systems pertaining to Record to Report.  This role will partner and collaborate with cross-functional teams consisting of (but not limited to) BTS, FSS Operations, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain, VLOG, Transfer Pricing, Purchasing, Margin Group, Finance Master Data, DSP stakeholders, and other GPL teams to ensure consistency, standardization and compliance with the AbbVie template.

Responsibilities

  • Identify global strategies across the RTR Global process area for enhancement to standardization and efficiency in processes, automation, innovation, best practices, and global consistency.
  • Represent and provide expertise on behalf of the function in working groups, workstreams, initiatives, inter and intra departmental committees and meetings for global processes pertaining to costing, inventory, and STOs and IMD (Integrated Master Data).
  • Provide direction on Standard Operating Model implementation to teams outside FSS RTR related to changes in business model (affiliate model changes AX, DD, DX), new entity creation, and new acquisitions.
  • Provide guidance for RTR process impacts from projects and process improvements.
  • Serve as RTR SME for costing, inventory, and systems relevant to RTR.
  • RTR SOP Governance - lead and coordinate creation, updates and compliance with RTR SOPs, Work Instructions and Job Aids for RTR in support of changes in finance policies and/or process changes. Lead periodic review of existing SOPs owned by RTR.
  • Support Continuous Improvement Request (CIR) process as a CIR lead.  Responsibilities include gathering information on requests including cost estimates for all teams impacted, providing analysis of expenses, and ROI calculation working with BTS on requirements and testing.
  • Review and approve new and/or changes to Product Financial Flows, including coordination with BTS on system confirmation/changes.
  • Lead master data readiness for first time shipments and inter/intra company and plant, business partner set up (Integrated Master Data team)
  • Point of contact with RTR BTS – partner with BTS to ensure appropriate involvement and support
  • Owner of RTR SAP roles, responsible for review and approval of GRC requests.  Lead ongoing analysis of roles to ensure appropriate access is granted, and roles are structured correctly.
  • Partner with Operations Finance to review, assess and provide recommendations for manufacturing plants and VLOG to standardize and improve processes, as well as ensuring compliance with Standard Operating Model and adherence to all policies and SOPs. Address any known compliance issues with audit and /or SOX PMO as needed.    
  • Lead and coordinate the creation, clean up and maintenance of RTR custom tables.
  • Support, lead, develop and mentor an extended team of 4 employees. Provide guidance and alignment with team’s objectives.  Create and foster an inclusive team culture that supports diversity and engagement.
  • Communicate and champion the department’s vision, mission, and objectives.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • BS or BA in Finance / Accounting
  • 10+ years of financial experience and experience in Operations/Manufacturing (experience at a managerial level mandatory).  Previous experience at a Manufacturing plant highly preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in leading projects and/or teams, especially cross-functional and highly technical projects involving multiple systems
  • Ability to interact with and support senior level management and to partner effectively and independently across finance and other groups 
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously and effectively manage deadlines
  • Continuous improvement mindset, and ability to drive and manage change
  • Excellent communication and verbal and written presentation skills
  • Professional proficiency in English
