Job Description

  • Strategic Pricing - Provide input and guidance on the pricing potential for business development opportunities by undertaking rapid assessments with the best available data to identify the risks and opportunities that may affect the final asset valuation.
  • Operational Pricing: Lead the implementation, monitoring and managing of the global pricing governance process while ensuring fully compliant practices, policies and procedures in regard to pricing data handling and reporting.
  • Coordinating and ensuring appropriate review and approval of pricing business cases across their Therapeutic Area and for preparation of the review by the Executive Pricing Council, in line with the global pricing governance. Ensuring alignment and harmonization of provision of pricing information and collaboration, across pricing and finance processes (plan, LRP).
  • Ensuring effective and timely roll out (communication, training) of the pricing guidance as a part of the Integrated Access Strategy.
  • Ensure timely development of the pricing guidance and for driving strategic pricing input in financial processes (LRP, plan), as well as driving reviews of strategic pricing assumptions with
  • areas/affiliates.
  • Serves as an internal Subject Matter Expert on strategic & operational pricing and analytics, providing where necessary training to the organization on pricing or analytical approaches.
  • Supports the Pricing Systems Lead in running International Reference Price and cross country/region impact analysis to inform LRP, PLN and business cases. Supports the Pricing Systems Lead in undertaking and interpreting launch sequence optimization analysis.
  • Developing a high-performing team with strategic and operational responsibilities within Global Pricing organization, through recruitment, development, and retention of key talent.
  • Providing regular performance feedback, development planning and coaching to direct reports.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders and organizational leaders, in Global Market Access and Pricing (GMAP), Asset Leadership, GMCO, GCD, affiliate and Area Market Access, Finance and DSG. Monitoring project progress, facilitates prioritization of team’s activities, manages workload, and ensures appropriate resource allocation, to meet critical deadlines under challenging time constraints.

Qualifications

  • Prior line management, coaching and development experience. MSc or MPhil (required) or PhD (preferred) in Finance, Actuarial Sciences, Statistics, Health Economics, Econometrics, Mathematics, or any other related quantitative field.
  • Proven track record and significant experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry and understanding of pricing, access, health economics and market access, commercialization process
  • is required, with at least 10 years of relevant experience. Demonstrated appropriate level of leadership. Requires high levels of competence, confidence, and credibility.
  • Experience interacting with P&R agencies and knowledge of top key markets health care systems and/or pricing regulations (EU5, Canada, Japan, US) is highly desirable.
  • Understanding of Health Technology Appraisal and the fundamental of Health Economics utilized in terming value of medicines from a payer viewpoint. Ability to understand data management and reporting with a basic awareness of the possible technology platforms and solutions that can be leveraged.
  • Knowledge and hands-on experience in the following aspects is required: -designing or implementing global pricing strategies and scenario assessments. -designing and implementing integrated market access strategies and payer value proposition.
  • Ability to communicate value drivers supporting pricing initiatives and their impact on business; ability to communicate financial impact of pricing initiatives on overall business objectives are required.
  • Ability to synthetize, critically analyze, efficiently communicate large volume of information, develop identify risks, recommendations and implement solutions is required.
  • Excellent English communication skills (both oral and written and ability to consistently provide clear and concise written and verbal communication, excellent presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage workload to meet critical deadlines under challenging time constraints.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to make decisions without full data set or with ambiguity and uncertainty.
