Job Description

The Procurement Specialists works within the Procurement function, which provides sourcing direction to multiple functional areas within the company. The role supports the Procurement Specialist and is responsible for implementing, optimizing, and ensuring the delivery of approved category strategies at the site in concert with the Corporation’s overall strategies. The position’s objective is to coordinate AbbVie’s Procurement processes to obtain maximum efficiency and stakeholder support.

  • Support Downstream Operations for PO Processing and Contact Center responsibilities.
  • Work with the Procurement Specialist to optimize Downstream procurement activities.
  • Implement short term and long-term workflow strategies established by management with high ethical standards, in compliance with the law and AbbVie policies and procedures.
  • Work to have a robust understanding of AbbVie’s Procurement Operations overall.  Support strategies to improve key performance indicators (KPI) and overall team performance.
  • Collaborate with various cross-functional teams such as Finance, Corporate Disbursement Office, and Category Management.
  • Develop and draft training documents, using existing templates and ensure compliance
  • with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Accurately update information for internal stakeholder requests.
  • Collect data and run ad-hoc reports as needed for data analysis.
  • May partner with contract management and legal to draft contracts while keeping close contact with respective suppliers to ensure timely completion and execution of agreements.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree or 4 years’ equivalent work experience
  • Required: A minimum of 3 years of procurement experience preferably
  • but not limited to Pharmaceutical.
    Strong knowledge of MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.  Ability to lead communication strategies to all team members, stakeholders, management, and suppliers.
  • Desired: Contact Center, Call Center, or Customer Service experience.
  • Expectation: work in the Lake County office 3 days a week.
