Job Description

Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie Interns.

We are seeking a motivated summer intern with experience in chemical engineering fundamentals to develop process improvements for impressive neuroscience therapies and further develop our understanding of platform technologies that have the potential to reduce solvent use for more sustainable processes.  This role will focus on collaboration with chemists and engineers within our late-stage development partners. The intern will be responsible for executing and analyzing the results of experiments in the laboratory, using state of the art process and analytical techniques.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering, experimental design, and data analysis.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Chemical process technology experimentation, data collection and analysis of results
  • Collaborative experimentation between colleagues in Late-stage PDS&T and Early-stage R&D process development

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications 

  • Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelors in Chemical Engineering or related field
  • Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027
  • Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
  • Experience in chemical engineering fundamentals and lab work
  • Strong collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally
  • Strong writing and communication skills
