Job Description

Purpose

This position is able to sit in either Lake County, Illinois or Florham Park, New Jersey

This position is part of the US Finance Shared Services Record to Report (RTR) Operations organization. US FSS RTR Operations is responsible for centralizing and executing accounting processes, governance and controls and delivering organizational efficiencies via centralization of common accounting processes for certain global, US regional and the US BU functions.

 

This role acts as the accounting contact for US bank accounts, interacts with Treasury and other stakeholders in terms of cash settlements and payment disbursements, this role also supports step plans and investment activities.

Responsibilities

  • Works closely with Treasury and other stakeholders to ensure accurate cash posting for US banks accounts (JPM main accounts, various Treasury investment and clearing accounts, and other US entity bank accounts), and post cash clearing entries for US entities
  • Collaborates with Treasury, Benefits, Tax, Business Finance, AP & AR teams to ensure transactions are properly booked and cleared, take a lead in monthly meetings with Treasury and AP teams
  • Reviews, analyzes and validates negative cash journal entries after cash clearing is completed at month end
  • Researches uncleared cash items by following up with various teams to identity payment owners and post payment accordingly
  • Updates and maintains bank clearing notebook to keep track of payment posting and contact information
  • Prepares bank related open items reconciliation reports
  • Prepares and submits Blackline journal entries for Step Plans proposed by Corporate Consolidation team
  • Coordinates with treasury on in-house cash (IHC) postings and acquisition/integration transactions
  • Review and approve Blackline account reconciliations, resolve aged open item issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve process efficiency and effectiveness

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting / finance with 3+ years of accounting experience, CPA or MBA a plus
  • Prior experience with treasury activities, AP and AR clearing activities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are key attributes for success
  • Ability to multi-task and deal with time constraints to effectively manage various deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills including the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization
  • Strong computer skills, particularly experience with Excel and SAP is required, experience with HFM is preferred
