Job Description

As a Product Development, Science & Technology intern, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of seasoned scientists and engineers, contributing to projects that drive innovation and excellence within AbbVie. Our team is responsible for progressing the dermal filler product portfolio by designing and developing cutting edge products in our pipeline and optimizing existing commercial products, ensuring they meet both company and industry standards. You will have the opportunity to learn firsthand how product development and innovation work in a large, global organization, participating in meaningful projects that have a tangible impact on our business and the broader market.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing and performing experiments in a lab/pilot plant setting, collecting reliable and consistent data
- Optimizing and implementing new experimental protocols/techniques
- Summarizing and presenting results with clear conclusions, recommendations, and next steps
- Maintaining compliance with all applicable policies and procedures
- Understanding and adhering to corporate standards regarding code of conduct, safety, appropriate handling of materials and GxP compliance, where applicable
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Material Science, Mechanical Engineering or related scientific field
- Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
- Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous research/lab experience
- Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to communicate concepts and problems in terms that are understandable to all levels of the organization
- Exposure to process chemistry, modeling/simulation, and data analysis software
- Coursework involving fluid mechanics, heat transfer, material science, chemistry, and equipment design topics
