Job Description

  • Main training responsibility will be focused on the ocular surface and anterior segment, with a sub-focus on a secondary section of the eye. The clinical training includes but is not limited to training for: representatives on the sales team, DMs, MSLs, National Accounts, and Marketing
  • Demonstrates direct and open communication within Training & Development and with all stakeholders resulting in positive relationships and mutual understanding and agreement
  • Responsible for providing specific verbal performance feedback to training participants resulting in them being aware of strengths and weaknesses including a plan for improved performance and to provide guest trainers one-to-one coaching including performance feedback and to provide them a meaningful role in the class.  This includes both clinical information and wet lab expertise.
  • Demonstrates the ability to effectively address coaching challenges for in class participants – behavioral, over-achievers, low performers – so that the entire class is able to benefit, progress and learn
  • Contributes to stakeholder strategic imperatives and strategy (i.e. IBT Meetings, etc.)
  • Manages multiple brands, marketing teams, and field leaders (division portfolio has 4 products)
    • Requires proficient knowledge across multiple brands
    • Requires asset management across all brands
    • Requires tailored training to align with the brand priorities for each product
    • Requires cross functional collaboration and alignment across multiple brand teams and leaders
    • Requires content creation with several marketing teams for NM, RDDM, POAs, etc.
  • Partner with Associate Director, Sales Training, Eye Care to create and deliver training materials/programs that address identified field/customer needs, support key marketing initiatives, enhance product knowledge, improve overall selling skills, and support the ongoing development needs of the sales team.

You Will:

  • Align all training with the strategic imperatives of the marketing leads
  • Learn and oversee the AOP, ALC, as well as the Franchise Annual Training Plan, making sure that it is current and accurate.
  • Participate, and at times lead, the design, development, and implementation of training programs
  • Partner with marketing teams and agencies to ensure training content is accurate and up to date for all training needs.
  • Participate, and at times lead, discussions with key stakeholders in the Medical/Legal/Regulatory/Compliance process to ensure all relevant materials are approved.
  • Facilitate of all corporately run training classes.
  • Manage content and learning continuum within Digital Learning Platforms.
  • Partner with training coordinator/admin to ensure programs are effectively managed.
  • Partner with marketing, sales leadership, Medical/Legal/Regulatory/Compliance, and other departments, as needed, to create and implement specific training material.
  • Continuously assess training and development needs of the salesforce and coordinate training resources to address these needs to ensure the long-term development of the Eye Care team.
  • Draws from field sales knowledge and develops and nourishes relationships with field sales to provide sales training and marketing leadership with a clear understanding of field needs to support product positioning, address competitive promotional efforts, and to assess the success of the various communication tools.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Minimum of 5 years pharmaceutical sales or directly related experience
  • Preferred clinical disease state experience
  • Experience with successful project development, management, execution, and multitasking
  • Experience in facilitating impactful group conversations
  • Time management, project management, prioritization, and organizational skills
  • Business acumen, analytics assessment, and critical thinking
  • Ability to manage and prioritize a diverse mix of responsibilities, execute plans, and communicate project updates to internal stakeholders
  • Proactively identify opportunities, and resolutions and act on resolutions
  • Interpersonal skills to establish positive and productive team and cross-functional peer relationships
  • Ability to build ongoing and highly credible relationships with field sales and corporate colleagues
  • Ability to develop key strategies and execute
  • Approximately 20% travel including company meetings, new hire and advanced training as well as development meetings and exposure to home office collaboration.
