Job Description
2026 Software Engineer Intern Overview:
Envision spending your summer working with energetic colleagues and inspirational leaders, all while gaining world-class experience in one of the most dynamic organizations in the pharmaceutical industry. This is a reality for AbbVie Interns.
This role will work in a collaborative and Agile environment to design, build, and enhance applications used by AbbVie employees and our customers. Solutions range from Customer Portals and Mobile Apps to customization of the SalesForce.com platform used by various teams.
The Software Engineer will work collaboratively, as part of an Agile team, with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, Product Managers, and various business owners. The work will be fast paced, dynamic, and afford many learning opportunities. Engineers will also have the chance to experiment and learn new skills while working on innovative stretch assignments. Opportunities exist for Front-End, Back-End, and Full Stack engineers. To be successful, candidates must be efficient in programming languages like Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, Vue.js, and HTML.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Currently enrolled in university, pursuing a bachelors degree in Engineering (Computer, Industrial, or related fields, or Computer Science or other related field
Must be enrolled in university for at least one semester following the internship
Expected graduation date between December 2026 – June 2027
Technology Skills: Programming Language: Python, or Java
Preferred Qualifications:
Exposure to database, coding, infrastructure, etc.
Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, NodeJS, Vue.js, and HTML.
