Job Description
As our internal medical, technical, and scientific resource, the Medical Review Specialist has the opportunity to impact the success of the business, playing a crucial role in the medical review of high-quality medical and scientific content that supports the Allergan Aesthetics facial injectable portfolio. This role works cross-functionally across our business to ensure high-quality review of all promotional and non-promotional materials and activities according to internal SOP’s, relevant industry codes of conduct and external laws and regulations, with a particular focus on digital, multichannel, and on-demand related activities and materials.
NOTE: This is a 12 month MAX TERM contract opportunity.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and review of promotional and non-promotional material in collaboration with the Medical Communications Specialist, medical colleagues and commercial teams in accordance with all relevant regulations, industry codes of conduct, and internal policies and procedures.
- Support the optimization of approval pathways for on-demand digital content. Collaborate closely with multi-channel experts within digital function.
- Support the generation and presentation of metrics reports across medical review activities.
- Ensure that materials have been discussed conceptually between therapy area assigned medical personnel, business owners and Medical Communications Specialist, prior to entering the material review system.
- Ensure adherence of all activities to company and regulatory requirements as well as industry voluntary codes of practice.
- Provide training and guidance on industry guidelines and codes of conduct to medical and commercial teams.
- Support commercial teams by developing and leading training in collaboration with medical colleagues.
- Participate in and drive cross-functional approach to projects.
- Provide occasional weekend or out of hours reviews as the business requires.
- Complete all learning requirements on time
- Report any adverse event within 24 hours as per Allergan’s policies and procedures.
- Proactively participate in AbbVie’s WHS programs, adhere to policies and promote a safe work environment at all times.
- Adhere to Allergan’s / AbbVie’s internal codes of conduct and compliance processes.
- Other ad hoc duties such as administrative duties, as requested.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Pharmacy or Life Sciences with Medicines Australia CEP
- + years of post-qualification work experience with experience working in pharmaceutical or medical related industry
- 2+ years’ experience working in a medical affairs team in the medical device or pharmaceutical science industry
- Prior healthcare advertising agency experience is highly desirable but not required
- Working understanding of Veeva Promomats or similar promotional material review system
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant industry codes of conduct relating to the review of promotional and non-promotional materials and activities required
- Strong analytical skills, with ability to critically evaluate and effectively communicate key clinical data through analysing and interpreting the information and additional supporting evidence
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Suite, particularly Excel
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a matrix structure, supporting multiple stakeholders required
- Understanding of digital/multichannel/social media/systems desirable
- Strong project management skills with experience in process mapping/efficiency optimisation
