Automation Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description
We are currently seeking an Automation Manufacturing Engineer to join our expanding team in Carrigtwohill, Cork. This is an exciting opportunity as the site is expanding to incorporate new technology and sterile cleanroom facilities.
In collaboration with colleagues in the Production, QA, and Engineering departments, as well as your own team, you will be responsible for all manufacturing Automation OT systems and processes.
Role and Responsibilities
- Administer and support all Automation OT processes within our pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Implement, qualify, commission, and maintain manufacturing Automation OT systems (such as Siemens PLC, SCADA, etc.) and associated infrastructure to ensure operational efficiency and agility.
- Identify, evaluate, and implement opportunities for continuous improvement in automation processes.
- Define requirements for capital projects and engage with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
- Manage automation projects throughout the project lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to troubleshoot and optimize automation systems.
- Generate and maintain documentation (SOPs and technical documentation) for comprehensive cGMP validation and operation, including documenting changes made.
- Maintain the Data Integrity Program, including the remediation of legacy systems to ensure robust procedures and systems are in place that cover data integrity, security, and recovery.
- Actively contribute to the Automation Business Strategy.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Automation or related field
- Relevant experience in an industrial role or other regulated manufacturing setting
- Experience with PLCs (Siemens), SCADA (iFix, WinCC), control architecture, and process equipment
- Experience with large-scale projects in Life Sciences, including generating, reviewing, and approving lifecycle documentation desirable
- Strong relationship-building skills
