Job Description

Purpose:

  • This people manager position is responsible for finance closing, control and compliance as well as day-to-day finance transactions.
  • The Role involves interacting with various departments in the company, with extended center of excellence teams such as BPO, Tax, treasury and co-ordination with auditors periodically.

Major Responsibilities:

Finance Closing

  • Lead the entity period close activities (by coordinating with shared services and supervising team members on respective closing area).
  • Responsible for the accuracy and reliability of Actual financial reporting to be delivered on a timely manner (management accounts under US GAAP and Statutory financial statements under Singapore FRS, as well as various local authority reporting).
  • Supervise yearly standard cost set up.

Control and Compliance

  • Responsible for the implementation of and compliance with group financial policies and more especially the complete and adequate internal control.
  • Responsible for financial compliance with significant contracts, including licensing (booking and payment).
  • Responsible for tax and treasury in liaison with Corporate centres of excellence and related functions/centres of excellence within the Abbvie target operating model (TOM).
  • Ensure that all accounting data is maintained in compliance with audit and policy requirements.
  • Coordinate with auditors on internal and external audit.

Day to day finance transactions

  • Supervise day-to-day finance operation related to procurement, inventory, fixed asset etc.
  • Supervise and review the ageing of account payable/GRIR/block invoices.
  • Drive process improvement related to closing activities and day to day finance transactions.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Professional accounting qualification is required (CIMA, ACA, CPA, ACCA)

Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies (includes licenses, credentials)

  • Minimum 8 years of combined experience in financial reporting, auditing is required.
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
  • Strong Excel, SAP knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills are required.
  • Strong process improvement mindset.
  • Proven people management experience.
  • Experience in costing, manufacturing setting is preferred.
  • Prior experience working in pharma MNC would be an advantage.
