1300SMILES Upper Ross is a family-friendly practice located on Riverway Drive in Rasmussen. We've been part of the local community for years and have built strong relationships with generations of local patients, providing general and restorative dentistry to families across Townsville.

We're looking for a full-time Dental Assistant to support our dentists chairside. This is an excellent opportunity to join a friendly, supportive team and build your career within an established practice.

Working closely with our dentists, Practice Manager and front office team, you'll help deliver exceptional patient care and support the smooth day-to-day operation of the practice.

What your days look like:

You'll provide chairside support across a range of general and restorative procedures while helping every patient feel comfortable and well looked after. If you're new to dental, you'll learn step by step, from sterilisation and room set-up through to chairside assisting, with an experienced team beside you.

Shifts are rostered within our opening hours, so you'll need to be available:

Monday to Friday: 8:00am - 6:00pm Saturday: 8:00am - 2:00pm

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting dentists and clinicians chairside during procedures
• Preparing and maintaining treatment rooms between appointments
• Sterilising instruments and caring for dental equipment
• Helping patients feel comfortable and well looked after
• Pitching in with reception and admin tasks when things get busy

To succeed in the role, you will bring:

• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• Strong customer service skills, with a friendly, approachable manner
• Previous experience as a Dental Assistant and/or a Certificate III in Dental Assisting (preferred, but not essential)
• Knowledge of infection control and sterilisation protocols, or a willingness to learn them
• Clear and professional communication with patients and the team
• A reliable, positive approach and a willingness to learn new systems and develop your skills across the practice
