Job Description
We are looking for an experienced and reliable Registered Nurse to join our team on a casual basis, providing cover for annual leave, sick leave, and other planned absences within the practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for a nurse seeking flexible work while gaining valuable experience in a specialist surgical setting. You'll work alongside highly skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeons, playing a vital role in supporting patient care before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Monitoring patients before, during, after surgical procedures to ensure their safety and wellbeing
- Assisting with IV sedation patient recovery
- Providing patient education and post-operative care instructions
- Supporting the wider clinical team with a range of nursing and patient care duties as require
Qualifications
We're seeking a confident, compassionate, and adaptable Registered Nurse who enjoys working in a fast-paced clinical environment and takes pride in delivering outstanding patient care.
To be successful in this role, you'll ideally have:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Current NZRC CORE Immediate (or equivalent) resuscitation certification
- Previous experience in surgical, perioperative, theatre, procedural, or specialist clinical settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and a patient-centred approach
- The ability to remain calm and professional in a surgical environment
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to a close-knit team
- Valid New Zealand work rights
- Residence in Wellington or within easy commuting distance of the practice
