Job Description
We are seeking a Registered Nurse to join our surgical team on a casual basis.
This is an exciting opportunity to step into the dental surgical field and work alongside highly skilled oral and maxillofacial surgeons. You'll play a vital role in ensuring safe, efficient surgical procedures while supporting patients throughout their treatment journey, particularly during IV sedation and recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor patients before, during, and after surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort throughout their care
- Assist with IV sedation procedures and patient recovery
- Maintain exceptional infection prevention and sterilisation standards
- Provide patient education and post-operative instructions
- Prepare surgical rooms and equipment for treatment sessions
- Support the wider practice team with clinical and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications
We're looking for a confident, compassionate, and adaptable Registered Nurse who thrives in a clinical environment and is eager to expand their skills within a specialist surgical setting.
To be successful in this role, you'll have:
- Current registration with the Nursing Council of New Zealand and a valid Annual Practising Certificate (APC)
- Current NZRC CORE Immediate (or equivalent) resuscitation certification
- Previous experience in surgical, perioperative, theatre, or procedural settings (preferred)
- Experience with scrubbing and circulating duties (advantageous but not essential)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail and a patient-centred approach
- A collaborative attitude and willingness to contribute to a close-knit team
- Live locally with valid NZ work rights
