Job Description

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fiber optic cable plant, both single mode and multi-mode, loose tube, and tight tube to support all network capability. 
  • Install fiber circuits to support other customer’s network needs. 
  • Install, terminate, test, and repair CAT5, CAT5e, and CAT6 cable in accordance with EIA/TIP standards. 
  • Install LAN cabinets, racks, patch panels, back boards, and cable managements. 
  • Install various sizes of conduit, cable ladders, cable troughs, and cable trays.  
  • Perform site surveys with Tinker AFB customers to determine proper installation and equipment listing the material and cost for each project/work order.

Qualifications

3+ years experience in cable repair and installation.  Experience with fiber optic, coaxial, and copper cable as well as protected terminals and grounding systems.  Knowledge of CAT 5/5e/6 and cable testing experience.  Experienced using fiber test sets, OTDR, and fusion splicer.  Experience providing OSP support including installing, troubleshooting, termination, and splicing.  Must be physically able to perform heavy lifting and pole climbing as well as be willing to work in enclosed spaces or inclement weather.  Must be a US citizen.
