Job Description

We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Infrastructure / DevOps Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and highly available cloud infrastructure on AWS. You will be responsible for automating infrastructure, improving deployment pipelines, and ensuring reliability across our cloud environments while collaborating closely with development, security and architecture teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure for production and non-production environments

  • Manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation

  • Architect and support containerized workloads using Amazon ECS and EC2-based services

  • Configure and optimize VPC networking, subnets, routing, security groups, and load balancing

  • Maintain, manage & improve AWS Data storage

  • Provision and manage EC2 instances, auto scaling, and AMIs

  • Implement and automatically maintain security at scale using IAM roles, policies using security principles

  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments

  • Be part of the on-call rotation during nights and weekends to handle critical infrastructure incidents and ensure high availability.

  • Monitor infrastructure performance and reliability, leveraging tools like Datadog

  • Integrate and manage security services through Cloudflare, AWS WAF & Shield

  • Implement security best practices, cost optimization strategies, and disaster recovery plans

  • Troubleshoot infrastructure and deployment issues across environments

  • Maintain documentation and operational runbooks

Qualifications

Required Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services, including:

    • WAF, Cloudfront, KMS & Secret Manager, Config, EC2, ECS, VPC, IAM, ALB/NLB, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, OpenSearch

  • Proven experience with Infrastructure as Code tools:

    • Terraform and/or AWS CloudFormation

  • Solid understanding of cloud networking concepts:

    • Subnets, routing, NAT, VPN, DNS, load balancing

  • Experience managing containerized environments and microservices

    • Docker, AWS ECR, Task Definitions, Services & Clusters

  • Familiarity with a mixed Linux environment (Ubuntu/Debian and RedHat/Amazon Linux), including troubleshooting, performance optimization and security/hardening

  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD workflows

Communication & Leadership

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to mentor junior engineers and establish engineering best practices.

  • Experience presenting complex technical designs and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders or executive leadership

  • Leading and driving post-mortem and root cause analysis processes following major incidents.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex challenges with a constructive attitude and a focus on collective team success

  • Fluent in English (french or dutch is a plus)
