Job Description

Welcome to the Marketplace Design Domain

As the place where all real estate actors gather (sellers, buyers, agents, landlords, promoters, etc), the marketplace’s primary success factor is to provide the highest standards in terms of safety, truthfulness, relevance, efficiency and quality of the interactions between each of these actors. Many factors have an impact on the quality of the marketplace experience, the most prevalent is the users quality, seriousness, and engagement of the marketplace themselves, and the content and information (sale / rent listings, buyers projects descriptions, agencies presentations …) they produce by the means of this use. 

The Marketplace Design Domain is about designing and developing all curation, penalty/reward, gamification, rating, scoring, and matching mechanisms that ensure the engagement of our users is constantly pushed up, and the quality of our content is constantly improving. As all of these capabilities are heavily data-powered, the Marketplace Design Team is also responsible for Data Governance, Modelling, Quality and the Data Platform and key Data-sets management for the whole AVIV.

Your responsibilities

As the Head of Data Operations, you will be empowered with full ownership and responsibility over the tools, models and governance schemas that enable easy accessible, high-quality and interoperable data across the whole organisation. You own the most widely used datasets across Aviv and adapt them constantly to fit users’ expectations, while acting for data ownership decentralisation together with Aviv’s architecture team. You lead a team of Product Managers and Data Model specialists who are fully dedicated to deliver against Data Operations missions.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN INDIVIDUAL WHO CAN:

  • Define and implement Aviv’s data standardisation strategy to reach high data quality and interoperability in a multi-brand, multi-actor and international environment
  • Design and grow the capabilities of Aviv’s data platform, including both proprietary modules and third party tools, enabling data access, transformation, visualisation, documentation and security
  • Deliver and maintain high quality, wisely designed datasets to fit analytic and production purposes across Aviv
  • Size and orient the effort on data quality where strategic priorities are, by embedding data management principles into Aviv’s Product & Tech delivery framework
  • Partner with Enterprise Architects, CISO and DPO to match information management strategy with architectural, security and privacy policies
  • Drive the deployment of Aviv’s data mesh architecture, both on technical, and organizational aspects
  • Act as an ambassador of privacy concerns and more specifically GDPR requirements
  • Develop a product centric approach to data tooling and datasets management, putting the internal end-user, success metrics, and the value delivered at the center of decision making
  • Contribute to create a strong data oriented culture, ranging from the analytic mindset to the data governance principles
  • Stay current with industry trends and drive innovations required to extract and deliver intelligence from Aviv data to Aviv marketplace users.
  • Grow and develop your team, including attracting, growing, and retaining talent, building a strong and healthy succession bench, and fostering a culture consistent with Aviv brand, organizational values, user/customer focus.
  • Communicate the function's strategy and its relationship to the organisation's mission, vision, and values.

Qualifications

AN INDIVIDUAL WHO HAS:

  • You have a master’s degree in engineering or a related field and deep experience providing expert competence on data management and tooling (10+ years).
  • Experience of planning, managing, and organising teams within short / medium timescales within the overall policy framework (10+ years).
  • Skilled at working with international cross functional teams under a tight timeline.
  • Experience in deploying data governance’s tech, organisational and data components, at the scale of an international company (8+ years).
  • Ability to understand the value of information and to turn it into user-centric solutions.
  • Fluency with the technical and scientific concepts involved by heavily data based services.
  • Ability to build partnerships with architecture and CISO teams.
  • A customer-first mindset and track record of earning the respect of product teams along with a roll-up your sleeves attitude.
  • The ability to communicate ambitious goals effectively while keeping your team motivated.
  • Knowledge of marketplaces business models and their implications for data management.
