What we do in Ventures & Incubation

The Ventures & Incubation team looks after AVIV growth accelerators, building the new revenue lines and capabilities to best serve owners, buyers, renters and agents’ needs. It focuses on early-stage opportunities with high potential, with the objective to fast-track scaling and value creation. It plays a key role in making AVIV the leading European real estate platform.

We are looking for a driven business builder who wants to go after new opportunities, with ownership from strategy to value realization. This role will report into the Chief Ventures & Incubation Officer and focus on our new business models, as well as managing existing and future investments & partnerships.

Job Description

  • Identify relevant business opportunities aligned with AVIV corporate strategy, and formulate plans to realize them, including partners and external investments
  • Translate insights and ideas into business plans through hypothesis development and validation
  • Build bottom-up financial models to quickly assess opportunity potential
  • Own the management of cross-country/division incubation programs leveraging multiple capabilities from within and outside the organization, act the GM of the new businesses
  • Provide PMO capability to ensure effective tracking and analytical reporting across incubation initiatives
  • Ensure alignment across key stakeholders on priorities to ensure new streams of growth in the market, with a long-term perspective
  • Manage AVIV portfolio of minority investments
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of AVIV strategy and build out a deep understanding of the ecosystem
  • Identify innovative solutions in the market and lead conversations to drive new business opportunities and product growth initiatives with key stakeholders in product, legal, engineering, and other stakeholders around the AVIV group
  • Advise the CEO and the Chief Venture & Incubation Officer on incubation priorities and drive further business cases and updates in this area to our investors
  • Build trusted relationships with all stakeholders and leaders
  • Be an ambassador for our AVIV behaviours and drive cultural initiatives  

Qualifications

  • Outstanding degree from a top university in a business-related or quantitative field
  • 8+ years of proven experience in building businesses, through organic and inorganic plans, preferably in ecommerce and marketplace environments
  • Consulting experience complemented by operational responsibilities a plus
  • Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, solid financial modeling capability for business case development
  • Keen interest to drive and go deep in execution
  • Solid stakeholder management skills, and ability to engage strategically and commercially with external parties
  • Demonstrated project management leadership experience, with regional or global scope
  • A leader, motivator and strong collaborator who can demonstrate success in delivering and navigating complex projects in a matrixed organization
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, self-motivated, self-managed
  • Outstanding ability to communicate and break down complex ideas into understandable and actionable messages
  • Can grasp and add value to the Group leadership’s vision and execution plan
  • Fluent in English and German
