Job Description

🚀 The Job Mission

You will provide mechanical construction surveillance across a designated section of the project.

The role focuses on quality compliance, contractor oversight and nuclear safety culture.

🔧Monitor mechanical works against contractor requirements and approved documentation
🔍Identify deviations and support formal non-conformance reporting processes
📋Conduct continuous, notified and planned surveillance of construction activities
🤝Maintain effective communication with contractors and wider project stakeholders
📈Provide surveillance information supporting project quality performance indicators
🛡️Identify emerging quality issues and support proportionate mitigation measures
⚙️Verify quality records are completed before works become inaccessible
📐Review construction drawings, technical requirements and quality control plans
🏗️Monitor contractor performance against authorised quality control requirements
📱Capture accurate surveillance information using electronic site reporting systems

Qualifications

🎓Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent vocational experience
🔧Experience with pipework installation, pumps, tanks and rotating equipment
🏗️Broad understanding of construction materials, trades and installation methods
🛡️Knowledge of Quality Assurance requirements including ISO9001 principles
📋Experience producing accurate, concise contract-relevant site diaries
🔍Strong attention to detail when inspecting equipment and materials
🤝Ability to build effective contractor relationships while remaining independent
📢Excellent communication, organisation and stakeholder management skills
⚙️Experience with large mechanical equipment installation advantageous
📚Understanding of CDM Regulations and drawing approval processes desirable
