Job Description
We are seeking an Auxiliary Boiler Integration Lead to join us, working on a major nuclear infrastructure project. Working in the design delivery management team, you will play a key role in the coordination and integration of the Auxiliary Boiler design package. Working within a multi-disciplinary environment, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful integration of designs, BIM models, technical deliverables, and supplier outputs across a complex network of stakeholders and contract partners.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to one of the UK's largest infrastructure projects, supporting design delivery from concept through to construction readiness.
- Develop and maintain the overall integration strategy for the Auxiliary Boiler package, ensuring alignment between suppliers, designers, and Building Information Management (BIM) plans.
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary design activities across several contract partners and parallel workstreams.
- Manage the integration of 3D models from multiple suppliers, including clash detection, issue resolution, and technical coordination.
- Support the preparation of Scope of Works documentation and technical specifications for design contracts and studies.
- Contribute to the technical evaluation of supplier proposals and contract documentation.
- Manage the overall data set, models, and coding structures associated with the Auxiliary Boiler building to support configuration and asset management requirements.
- Act as a key interface with configuration management, asset management, engineering, and project stakeholders.
- Monitor and review supplier design deliverables, ensuring compliance with technical specifications, project requirements, and UK regulatory expectations.
- Support design reviews, gateway reviews, constructability reviews, and readiness assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Oversee configuration control processes and ensure effective implementation across the supply chain.
- Track, manage, and drive the resolution of technical risks, open points, actions, and design interfaces.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project teams, suppliers, and building coordinators as required.
Qualifications
Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor's or Masters Degree in related Engineering discipline.
- Experience and qualified/trained in design/3D CAD/BIM/Data Management for engineering disciplines.
- Experience in design management and coordination on large multi-discipline infrastructure projects.
- Solid Technical knowledge of building design and construction
- Experience knowledge of BIM systems, data management to support construction, commissioning, operation, maintenance and wider asset management,
- Experienced in working with Navisworks, PDMS/E3D and Autodesk products.
- Excellent knowledge of engineering procedures especially RIBA plan of work 2013, or equivalent.
- Experienced in buildings standards and engineering procedures in the UK.
- Languages: English (priority), French (appreciated)
Desirable
- Good knowledge of UK Nuclear Regulations and legislation.
- Engineering experience with boilers, steam generation facilities, or thermal process.
- Chartered or incorporate membership appreciated.
- Experience in nuclear industry appreciated.
- Project lifecycle experience including design, qualification, manufacturing, construction, commissioning or site-based operations.
- Experience of working within a highly regulated environment.
- Knowledge/experience of design activities related to the Conventional industry (RIBA, BSRIA)
- Previous demonstrable project management experience
- Knowledge of and or previous experience of working to the Pressure Equipment (Safety) Regulations and Pressure System Safety Regulations.
