Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning and scheduling function across major programmes, portfolios, or business areas.
- Establish and maintain integrated programme schedules, planning governance, and performance management frameworks.
- Provide strategic schedule leadership and oversight to support programme delivery and organisational objectives.
- Ensure planning standards, methodologies, processes, and controls are consistently applied across all projects and programmes.
- Deliver high-quality schedule analysis, forecasting, critical path assessment, and performance reporting to senior leadership.
- Lead the identification and management of schedule risks, opportunities, constraints, and interdependencies.
- Support executive decision-making through scenario modelling, schedule optimisation, and strategic planning recommendations.
- Act as the senior planning authority for programme reviews, governance forums, and stakeholder engagements.
- Collaborate with Project Controls, Risk, Cost, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Delivery teams to ensure integrated project performance management.
- Assess and manage the schedule impacts of change, ensuring forecasts remain accurate and aligned with programme objectives.
- Lead, mentor, and develop planning teams, creating a culture of continuous improvement and professional excellence.
- Drive improvements in planning capability, tools, systems, and organisational maturity.

- Strong strategic thinking and ability to manage planning across large, complex programmes and portfolios.
- Excellent leadership, coaching, and team development capability.
- Advanced analytical skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
- Strong stakeholder management skills with experience engaging executive and director-level audiences.
- Ability to influence decision-making and drive delivery performance across multidisciplinary teams.
- Deep understanding of programme governance, risk management, change control, and integrated project controls.
- Experience within major engineering, infrastructure, energy, nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated sectors.
