Job Description

Your future team:

The Senior Process Engineer will be operating as part of the Strategic Infrastructure Business Unit to manage the technical aspects of nuclear process engineering packages for a major Defence client.

Your missions:

The primary purpose of the Senior Process Engineer is to assist and support the Client Design Manager in the delivery of project scope. This will include:

🛠️ Managing the delivery of nuclear process work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule and cost.

🛠️ Developing, leading, and managing one or more technical design packages; agreeing project related objectives, managing designer performance, and making appropriate technical management responses.

🛠️ Ensuring that the design documentation covers the scope of operations required by the Project Manager and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.

🛠️ Planning for effective project implementation, identifying key factors and leading the project’s technical planning process.

🛠️ Ensuring effective Quality Management Arrangements, operating and delivering through compliance with the Client’s Business Management System and Technical Manual.

🛠️ Ensuring that the processes and activities being managed are appropriately documented with appropriate records maintained and configuration and quality controls applied.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Skills to be successful:

🌟 A degree or equivalent in a Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.

🌟 Preferably Chartered Engineer status and member of relevant institute or significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.

🌟 Nuclear Introductory Course or equivalent nuclear and/or marine system knowledge.

🌟 Design and substantiation of process engineering solutions to relevant codes for satisfying Nuclear Safety Functions; experience in dock structures preferred.

🌟 Knowledge of process design of large-scale industrial plant.

🌟 Demonstrable relevant knowledge and skills required in the technical management of complex design development throughout the design lifecycle.

🌟 Sound project specification, planning, project management and budgeting experience.

🌟 Experience of the design support to construction, operation, refit/repair of conventional and nuclear submarines and/or facilities.

  • Most work is offsite, working from home or Assystem offices.  Occasional visits to Client site in Plymouth
