As FP&A Manager for Technology, you will be the lead Finance Business Partner for our Technology function, working closely with senior Technology leaders and Procurement to drive strong financial performance, strengthen cost control and ensure we are getting the best possible return from our technology investment. 

You will own the financial planning, forecasting and reporting for Technology, while proactively identifying and driving savings and efficiency opportunities across the cost base. This is not simply a reporting role. You will use insight, challenge and strong commercial judgement to influence decisions, improve investment choices and ensure opportunities are identified, understood and delivered. 

The Details 

• Act as the lead Finance Business Partner for Technology, building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and providing clear, commercially focused financial advice. 
• Own the Technology budget, forecast and longer-term financial plan, ensuring assumptions are robust, risks and opportunities are understood, and stakeholders are held accountable for delivery. 
• Partner closely with Procurement to identify and assess all savings opportunities across technology spend, including contract renewals, vendor consolidation, demand management, licence optimisation, new spend and cost avoidance. 
• Maintain a clear, complete view of savings and efficiency initiatives, ensuring opportunities are quantified, tracked against budget and forecast, and followed through to delivery. 
• Challenge new investment and resourcing proposals, ensuring costs, benefits, trade-offs and expected returns are clearly understood before decisions are made. 
• Lead clear and insightful reporting of Technology performance, including actuals, forecast, budget, risks and opportunities, savings, new spend and actions required to address gaps. 
• Provide a portfolio view of major Technology investments and Procurement programmes, covering approved spend, actual spend, forecast, expected benefits, delivery status and financial risks. 
• Own and continuously improve the financial control environment for Technology expenditure, including the appropriate treatment of operating and capital expenditure. 
• Translate complex financial information into concise, decision-focused insight for Technology leaders, Finance leadership and executive forums. 
• Improve the quality, accessibility and efficiency of reporting, using Power BI, planning tools and automation to reduce manual activity and enable greater self-service. 
• Lead, coach and develop colleagues supporting the Technology cost base, setting clear standards for ownership, accuracy, stakeholder management and proactive problem-solving.

About You  

• A qualified accountant, or someone with significant relevant commercial finance and FP&A experience. 
• Strong experience of business partnering with senior non-finance stakeholders, ideally within Technology, Digital, Procurement or another complex cost environment. 
• A commercial and inquisitive mindset, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence senior decision-makers. 
• Demonstrable experience of identifying, quantifying and delivering cost savings or efficiency opportunities. 
• Strong planning, budgeting and forecasting capability, with an ability to understand the operational drivers behind financial performance. 
• Excellent reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to turn complex data into clear insight, recommendations and actions. 
• Strong understanding of business cases, investment appraisal and the financial evaluation of technology projects. 
• Experience of managing both operating and capital expenditure would be beneficial. 
• Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI or similar reporting tools. Experience or excitement of emerging AI functionality in the world of FP&A is also crucial. 
• A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ownership and resilience to follow issues through to resolution. 
• Strong attention to detail without losing sight of the wider commercial picture.
