Job Description
We are currently looking for a Junior Python Engineer (1–2 years of experience) to join one of our client projects. In this role, you will support the development of Python-based tools and help maintain platforms used by data science teams. You’ll work alongside more experienced engineers, data scientists, and DevOps teams while continuing to grow your technical skills in a real-world environment.
THE WORK:
- Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining Python libraries and APIs using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Support data science platforms and environments (such as Anaconda Enterprise or similar tools) under the guidance of senior engineers.
- Help manage and integrate Python packages and dependencies used for data science and machine learning workflows.
- Contribute to infrastructure automation and CI/CD pipelines, with exposure to tools like Terraform and Azure DevOps.
- Monitor applications and platforms, help investigate issues, and support platform stability and performance.
- Collaborate with data scientists, DevOps, and infrastructure teams to understand requirements and improve tooling.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reliability, scalability, and developer experience.
- Onsite at client site: This role requires onsite collaboration with clients and partners to support delivery, learning, and relationship-building. Flexibility will be provided where possible to support work/life balance.
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- 1–2 years of experience in Python development (commercial or equivalent project experience).
- Basic experience with Python frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, or Django.
- Familiarity with Python package management (e.g., pip or Conda).
- Exposure to cloud platforms (preferably Azure, but others are acceptable).
- Understanding of core data libraries such as pandas and NumPy.
- Willingness to learn infrastructure and DevOps practices.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment.
- Good communication skills and a proactive, learning-oriented mindset.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Experience with Anaconda Enterprise or other data science platforms.
- Exposure to SAP BusinessObjects (SAP BO).
- Familiarity with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, or Kubernetes.
- Basic knowledge of containers (e.g., Docker)
