Job Description

Design strategy and planning – Define design challenges and opportunities, develop design strategies aligned with organizational goals, and create design workplans or timelines to coordinate with the project manager.

User research and insights – Conduct qualitative and quantitative research (as possible), analyse and synthesize findings to inform design decisions.

Collaboration and integration – Work closely with cross-functional teams and advocate for inclusive and equitable design practices.

Prototyping and iterative design – Develop prototypes, test and iterate designs based on user feedback, and apply design best practices.

Monitoring and evaluation – Define metrics for user experience and design impact, conduct usability testing and post-implementation reviews, document lessons learned.

Stakeholder engagement – Facilitate co-creation workshops with users and stakeholders, build consensus on user needs and design priorities, communicate design rationale clearly to non-design audiences.

Capacity building – Train or coach others on human centred design principles and methods, develop toolkits or resources for sustainable practices.

Qualifications

  • University degree in Design, Computer Science or relevant fields
  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience as UX/UI designer, working with a global user base
  • 3+ years’ experience designing and facilitating in-person, online, and hybrid co-creation workshops.
  • Expert knowledge in spoken and written English.
  • Intermediate knowledge of another UN language is desirable, but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Knowledge of MS SharePoint, MS Visio

Desirable

  • Expertise in industry standard UX software ie,Figma.
  • Prior experience working with WHO or another UN agency
  • Portfolio of design projects
