Established in 2016, the Greek entity Arηs Developments Hellas aims to extend Arηs Group activities dedicated to the European market providing high-quality services in Software Development, covering the entire application development lifecycle: starting with user requirements, business process redesign, and specifications, to continue with development, testing, and application maintenance.

We are looking for Software engineers with German-speaking skills to be part of an agile product development team, developing complex custom software solutions in a strategic project for various clients in the German market.

As a software engineer, you will oversee the entire life cycle of a software application, creating the design, coding it, and testing the product for functionality and errors while ensuring that user needs, performance requirements, and security standards are met. As a Software engineer, you will be an independent individual contributor, whose work has a direct impact on the team's outcomes.

Key responsibilities:

• Implement business logic from business requirements and design specification
• Design and develop scalable and high-performance back-end systems using Java and Spring
• Collaborate with the front-end development team to integrate user-facing elements with the back-end systems
• Focus on quality code, automation, and good practices
• Participate in agile scrum ceremonies and contribute to the development of project plans and schedules
• Develop and test software solutions and review code quality
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code, following best practices
• Automate build, test (unit, functional, and performance), and deployment of the code part of the CI/CD pipeline by working closely with Platform Engineer

Required skills

• Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science or a relevant field
• Very good communication skills in German. (at least a B1 degree in German)
• 1+ years of development experience in back-end development projects 
• Have experience or working knowledge of Java (Spring, Hibernate, Maven)
• Hands-on experience with cloud computing, specifically Azure
• Strong experience with relational databases
• Knowledge of Git and version control practices
• Agile – Scrum/Kanban, TDD (JUnit, Mockito) Pair Programming
• Experience in creating REST API documentation using Swagger or similar tools is desirable
• Architectural mindset & documentation
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Experience in Angular framework will be a plus.
