Established in 2016, the Greek entity Arηs Developments Hellas aims to extend Arηs Group activities dedicated to the European market providing high-quality services in Software Development, covering the entire application development lifecycle: starting with user requirements, business process redesign and specifications, to continue with development, testing and application maintenance.

We are currently looking for a DevOps Automation Engineer (Puppet) to join our growing team in one of the biggest European organizations.

Tasks:

• Operate and maintain client's Puppet infrastructure
• Ensure compliance of the servers with the agreed policy (fix unresponsive nodes, no-op nodes, etc.)
• Support colleagues and other teams with the adoption of Puppet for their activities
• Upgrade the software to the most recent version, to avoid being more than one version behind the market (e.g. to avoid security and error-prone upgrades, etc.).
• Contribute to the refactoring/improvements of the Puppet infrastructure
• Improve agent upgrades in-manifest/remove task dependency
• Improve the security posture of Puppet

Who you are:

Mandatory:

• Bachelor plus minimum of 9 years of experience in ICT
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working in an international/multi-cultural environment  
• A minimum of 3 years of experience with systems and IT operations
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in Puppet based configuration management design/architecture, development/configuration and deployment/administration, preferably on Red Hat 7+
• Participation in a minimum of 3 projects involving Puppet based solutions on Linux/Unix (or equivalent experience – large projects)
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in Linux/Unix Administration, preferably Red Hat 7+ 
• A minimum of 2 years of experience working with Kubernetes
• A minimum of 3 years of experience working with an Agile methodology
• Participation in a minimum of 2 projects involving server automation (deployment) and standardization through scripting (e.g. Powershell, Python, Bash, etc.)
• Excellent knowledge of DevOps principles and best practices (continuous delivery, continuous integration, continuous deployment, use of automation to improve efficiency, feedback loops, fail fast, etc.) 
• Excellent knowledge of Puppet based configuration management design/architecture, development/configuration and deployment/administration
• Good knowledge of cloud computing, containerization and Kubernetes concepts

Desirable:  

• A minimum of 1 year of experience working with Terraform or Ansible
• Certification: RHCSA/RHCE
• Certification: Kubernetes (e.g. Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, etc.)
