We are currently looking for Application Engineer to join our growing team in one of the biggest European organizations in law enforcement.

Your tasks:

  • Application installation, configuration and administration in production and non-production environments;
  • Application monitoring, performance tuning and continuous improvement of the efficiency and quality of service;
  • Perform applications support and maintenance activities such as incident, change, release and problem resolution;
  • Writing and validating application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup and restore plans;
  • Automate administrative procedures for recurring system administration activities and provide installation and technical support documentation where required;
  • Contribute to the structuring, maintenance and development of the technical knowledgebase supporting the ICT Infrastructure Operations activities;
  • Report on application availability, performance, capacity and overall usage where required.
  • Review design of software applications;
  • Review software code deliveries by manual inspection and/or by integration into a CI/CD pipeline;
  • Participate to CI/CD pipeline management.


Who you are      

  • Bachelor plus minimum of 6 years of IT professional experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in architecture and design of information systems;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in development of information systems;
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with Unified Modelling Language (UML) or Computer-Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools.
  • Experience in Service Bus Architecture;
  • Experience with relational databases; • Experience in web technologies;
  • Experience with Linux, UNIX or AIX Enterprise environment;
  • In-depth knowledge of Service Oriented Architecture;
  • In depth knowledge of applications design;
  • In depth knowledge of modelling tools;
  • Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages;
  • Good knowledge of Relational Database Management Systems (DBMS);
  • Good knowledge of business process analysis;
  • Knowledge of interoperability technology (e.g. web services, message oriented middleware, service oriented bus);
  • Good redaction skills;
  • Ability to give technical presentations;
  • Ability to apply high quality standards;
  • Ability to cope with fast changing technologies used in application architecture and design;
  • Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, good communication skills;
  • Capability of working in team;
  • Open Group TOGAF (level 1 and 2) certification advantageous (in depth knowledge of the framework) together with knowledge of Enterprise Architecture principles.
  • Very good communication skills in English B2/C1 Level

Bonus/Advantage skills:

  • In depth knowledge of applications design;
  • Good knowledge of Object Oriented Programming languages;
  • Experience in web & mobile technologies;
  • Experience in using CI/CD pipelines (with tools such as Git, Jenkins, Sonarqube).
