Job Description

ARHS Spikeseed is looking for a Cloud Engineer for one of our customers based in Brussels. 

Who you are

We’re looking for a cloud Expert with broad knowledge of cloud patterns and services (PaaS: AWS), who will help to fasten our journey to public cloud thanks to his knowledge and past experiences. We’re looking for someone who can propose, demonstrate and defend solutions that matches the customer Cloud strategy, and from which the different teams can benefit (The scope is always enterprise-wide and not restricted to a specific product) 

The focus lies on AWS public Cloud platform. 

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • AWS cloud patterns: translate cloud patterns (security, storage, job scheduling…) into technical design (documentation + PoC); 
  • AWS - FaaS (function as a service): describe standards & guidelines (+ PoC) on how to develop new applications in serverless (AWS lambda) 
  • AWS – IT automation: help improving our CI/CD pipeline (services: CodeBuild, CodePipeline + release management products) for AWS; 
  • EDA (event-driven architecture): guidelines on how to set up a local EDA on public Cloud platforms by leveraging the available services (AWS Kinesis, Azure EventHub); 
  • API governance on Azure: how can we set-up a proper API governance taking into account the API management service capabilities? 

As part of the cloud engineer team, you will: 

  • Facilitate /support transition towards public cloud AWS:  
  • Translate cloud integration patterns into technical design (documentation + PoC) 
  • Define and document standards & guidelines 
  • Provide reusable assets based on the technical design 
  • Write code samples/libraries facilitating interaction with AWS services  
  • Participate in community animation: coaching, presentations 
  • Follow-up AWS services evolution and propose improvements

Qualifications

  • Strong experience in Cloud (about 5 years) - focus on AWS and Azure 
  • Broad knowledge of Cloud patterns and services, more specifically: 
  • AWS - FaaS: guidelines on how to develop new applications in serverless 
  • AWS - IT automation: experience setting up enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines  
  • (CodeBuild, CodePipeline) 
  • EDA: AWS (Kinesis, MSK), Azure(EventHub) 
  • API governance with Azure API management 
  • High availability (incl. disaster recovery) and QoS with a hybrid cloud approach  
  • Development or Operational background: Java - Python – Cloudformation 

Personal Skills 

  • Good communication skills: English mandatory / Optional: French or Dutch 
  • Ability to coach and present new concepts/realizations to the engineering community
