Job Description

We're seeking several writers and a subject matter expert (SME) to assist in writing a study guide for a Fundamentals of Counseling practice exam. The study guide will cover the content taught in a college-level introductory counseling course, including historical development, counselor roles, counseling relationships, theoretical approaches, social/cultural foundations, career development, human growth/development, and assessment techniques. Writers should have knowledge of the subject matter and be able to effectively write a study guide covering this topic. Writers should also be familiar with the material that would be tested for college credit, writing study materials for higher education, and Google Drive/Google Docs. Subject matter experts (SMEs) should have extensive knowledge of the topic, including areas that are tested in exams for college credit. This is a 100% remote, work-from-anywhere contract position.

Details:

  • Contract, this is an independent contractor position
  • $25.00 - $30.00/hour for writers, $40.00 - $45.00/hour for subject matter expert
  • 8-12 hours/week; some weekend work may apply
  • 100% remote, work-from-anywhere position
  • An A Pass writing sample will be required to move forward in the application process.

Qualifications

  • MA in Counseling or closely related subject area preferred
  • LPC (or other state license) preferred
  • Proficient in writing assessments/study materials for higher education
  • College-level teaching experience in those courses preferred
  • Familiarity with study guides for professional/licensing exams preferred
  • Google Drive navigation
