Job Description
Are you the next Maggie Koerth-Baker, John Bohannon, Ben Parr, or Jenna Wortham?
The Science Writer intern will cover all environmental, life sciences, and technology-oriented content that identifies with and topically relates to the Modern Treatise vision/target demographic.
Responsibilities Include:
- Write a bi-weekly column focused on topics ranging from the environment, life sciences, and the technology area.
Duration: 6 months
This is a virtual and unpaid internship. Yet, you will gain valuable writing experience.
Note: Metro San Francisco, Chicago and New York residents strongly encouraged to apply, but location not required.
Qualifications
The candidate must be able to provide a critical analysis of the current trends and latest developments.
The candidate also needs to be on top of the continual emergence of technological advancement and the impact they might have on society.
Preferably applicants should be a college graduate or graduate student studying journalism or English (or a related field) and have prior writing/reporting experience with your school newspaper or another publication. Dedicated writers/editors/bloggers with non-traditional backgrounds are also welcome to apply. Must be able to give a year commitment.
