Job Description

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Landing Gear Dynamics Engineer to join a growing engineering team supporting the development, analysis, and verification of advanced landing gear systems. This role will focus on multibody dynamics modelling, simulation, and analysis, supporting the full engineering lifecycle from concept development through to customer demonstrations and design reviews.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in dynamic systems analysis and multibody simulation, using industry-standard tools to assess the performance, stability, and behaviour of landing gear systems in complex operational environments.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging aerospace programmes within a collaborative engineering environment, contributing to the development of high-integrity engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain multibody dynamics models for landing gear systems and associated mechanical assemblies.
  • Perform dynamic simulations and analyses to evaluate system performance, loads, stability, and behaviour throughout operational scenarios.
  • Support design activities through the interpretation of simulation results and provision of engineering recommendations.
  • Produce technical reports, analysis documentation, and verification evidence to support engineering requirements.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams including systems, structural, mechanical, and integration engineers.
  • Support technical reviews including Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and customer-facing engineering demonstrations.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Significant experience as a Landing Gear Dynamics Engineer, Multibody Dynamics Engineer, Dynamics Engineer, or similar engineering role.
  • Strong background in multibody dynamics (MBD) modelling and simulation.
  • Proven experience using MSC Adams (Hexagon Adams).
  • Experience carrying out dynamic analysis of complex mechanical systems.
  • Ability to interpret engineering requirements and translate them into simulation models and analytical solutions.
  • Experience producing technical reports and presenting engineering findings to technical audiences.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical system behaviour, dynamics, kinematics, and load analysis.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant engineering experience.

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience using Simcentre MotionSolve, Simpack, Ansys Motion, or similar multibody simulation tools.
  • Experience with VI Aircraft software.
  • Previous aerospace or landing gear engineering experience.
  • Experience presenting dynamic simulations and analysis results during customer-facing design reviews and PDR activities.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering and verification processes within highly regulated industries.
