Job Description
ALTEN is seeking an experienced Quality Non Conformance Manager to support a major aerospace manufacturing programme in Belfast. This position offers the opportunity to work within a complex aeronautical environment, ensuring product quality, compliance, and continuous improvement across the supply chain and manufacturing operations.
The successful candidate will join an established Supply Chain Management (SCM) Execution team and play a key role in supporting quality activities, supplier performance, and non-conformance management during a period of increased operational demand.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support Quality Conformance activities within a fast-paced aerospace manufacturing environment.
- Provide guidance and coordinate activities across Product Quality Control and Quality Assurance teams.
- Manage and drive resolution of non-conforming products through robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Support Material Review Board (MRB) and Corrective Action Board (CAB) activities.
- Develop, maintain, and improve quality documentation, procedures, and standards.
- Analyse quality performance data and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Prepare and maintain First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs), inspection plans, and quality delegation plans.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
- Plan, support, and carry out internal and supplier audits.
- Drive quality improvement initiatives and support continuous improvement programmes.
- Provide quality-related training and guidance to both internal teams and external partners.
- Support structured problem-solving activities, including 8D investigations, PFMEA reviews, and Control Plan development.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Previous aeronautical/aerospace industry experience is mandatory.
- Strong background in Quality Assurance, Quality Engineering, or Conformance Management within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing product non-conformities and corrective action processes.
- Knowledge of MRB, quality auditing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to analyse quality data and implement effective corrective actions.
- Experience working within highly regulated engineering or manufacturing environments.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.
Desirable Skills:
- Knowledge of aerospace supply chain quality processes.
- Familiarity with First Article Inspection (FAI) requirements and AS9100 standards.
- Experience supporting supplier quality activities.
- Understanding of PFMEA, Control Plans, and structured problem-solving methodologies.
- Experience using aerospace quality management systems and digital quality tools.
