Job Description

We are partnering with a globally recognised leader in heavy machinery and off-highway vehicle innovation to recruit an Electrical Design Engineer.

This exciting opportunity involves working on the integration of advanced and autonomous technologies into existing vehicle platforms, with a strong focus on wiring systems and harness design rather than full electrical distribution system (EDS) ownership.

Key Responsibilities:

Wiring Systems Design & Integration

  • Design, develop and modify electrical wiring harnesses and routing solutions
  • Support the integration of new technologies into complex vehicle platforms
  • Work on physical electrical systems (non-EDS) within machine environments

Standards & Compliance

  • Ensure designs adhere to industry standards and best practices, including:
    • Wiring conventions
    • Grounding and circuit protection
    • EMC considerations
    • Labelling and documentation
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, reliability, and quality

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with mechanical, systems, and software engineering teams
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers to resolve design challenges
  • Support prototype builds and production readiness

Engineering Lifecycle Support

  • Participate in design reviews and validation activities
  • Support engineering change processes (ECR/ECO)
  • Troubleshoot electrical integration issues
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation throughout the lifecycle

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Up to 5 years’ experience in electrical design (automotive, off-highway, aerospace or similar)
  • Hands-on experience with wiring harnesses / electrical integration (non-EDS)
  • Good understanding of electrical standards, validation, and compliance
  • Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Required Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience supporting products through multiple development stages, from concept to production.
  • Comfortable working in cross-functional teams across systems, software, and manufacturing.
