Job Description

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Software Test Engineer to join our dynamic team through a VIE contract. You will work with software download (SWDL), fault tracing, fault diagnosis, debugging and troubleshooting in HIL rigs and test vehicles.

In this role, you will be working with:

  • Continuous update of software and hardware to secure verification and validation in HIL test beds and test vehicles for the latest software baselines
  • Perform sanity checks to verify the integrity and functionality of software updates
  • Fault tracing, diagnosis and troubleshooting of software and platform issues
  • Technical documentation according to Volvo Cars standards
  • Escalate issues arising from software and vehicle platforms to the right stakeholders
  • Use automated flows for software download
  • Define required vehicle data and logs
  • Collect vehicle data and capture test logs
  • Perform initial root cause analysis on vehicle or component level

Qualifications

  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Embedded Systems Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong interest in testing and validation
  • Working knowledge of SWDL and diagnostics on embedded systems
  • Experience in troubleshooting on HIL systems such as dSPACE, Vector or National Instruments
  • Experience in fault tracing, diagnosis and troubleshooting on end-to-end vehicle systems
  • Knowledge of vehicle communication protocols, especially CAN
  • Fluent in English
