ALTEN UK is seeking an MSA & Calibration Engineer to support a cutting-edge battery manufacturing project in the automotive sector. This is your opportunity to play a vital role in ensuring measurement accuracy, traceability, and process capability for high-performance battery systems in a fast-paced, quality-driven environment.
Location: Sunderland Area (Fully Onsite)
Your main responsibilities will be:
- Perform Measurement System Analysis (MSA) studies across production lines using tools such as CCD cameras, microscopes, CMMs, and in-line balances.
- Analyse data using Minitab and Excel, and generate structured internal reports to support process decisions.
- Collaborate with engineering and production teams to plan, schedule, and execute MSA activities.
- Manage the full calibration process, including equipment logging, label generation and application, and traceability maintenance.
- Maintain accurate calibration records and certificates using Excel-based systems (no database experience required).
- Liaise with external suppliers for calibration certificate management and equipment procurement.
- Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 17025, and IATF 16949 standards through diligent record-keeping.
- Support audit readiness, continuous improvement initiatives, and equipment reliability efforts across the facility

Qualifications
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
- 4–5 years of experience in MSA, calibration, metrology, or quality engineering.
- Hands-on experience with measurement systems and metrology tools in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in Minitab and Excel (including formulas and structured data reporting).
- Understanding of ISO 9001, ISO 17025, or IATF 16949 standards is advantageous.
- Excellent documentation and organizational skills; comfortable working onsite and engaging with physical equipment.
- Background in automotive, battery, or high-volume manufacturing environments is a plus.
