What will you be doing? 

As a Test Engineer, you will join our team in Chelmsford to support our activities within the Defence sector. 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

• Working on development programmes for Microwave Power Modules and Traveling Wave Tubes.
• Develop test methodologies by understanding system requirements and functional characteristics.
• Collaborate with internal and external test facilities and equipment owners to assemble and develop test setups, and plan testing activities.
• Execute test plans and compile test reports to demonstrate compliance.
• Liaise with electronics and microwave tube engineers to diagnose and resolve performance issues at both system and component levels.

Experience, skills and qualifications required: 

• A Bachelor's or Master Degree in Electronic Engineering or similar.
• Understanding of microwave theory, equipment, and testing processes
• Experience with microwave amplifier systems ranging from milliwatts to watts
• Ability to plan tests based on customer requirements, internal guidelines, and regulatory compliance
• Exposure to working with electronic systems and projects within a Defence / Military environment
• Ability to achieve Security Clearance.

Security Clearance:

• Candidates must have lived in the UK for at least 5 years with no gaps of 3+ consecutive months to be eligible for security clearance.
