Overview of role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Senior Executive Manager to join the National Data & Analytics team of ALDI Stores, based in Minchinbury. This is a permanent full-time position.

The purpose of this role is to drive the National Data & Analytics team towards a future state landscape in alignment to ALDI’s strategic objectives. As the Senior Executive Manager will be responsible for leading the technical direction, design, and execution of the enterprise-wide AU data platform strategy in partnership with local and international stakeholders. You will drive the architecture, governance, and engineering standards, ensuring data is accessible, secure, and optimised for reporting, capability building, advanced analytics and decision-making support.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Design and implement a scalable, high-performance data architecture leveraging Azure Data Services and Databricks for data warehousing, reporting, big data, and advanced analytics
  • Establish a clear roadmap for the evolution of the platform, ensuring it can handle current and future data volumes, types, and business use cases
  • Act as a thought-leader in the Platform & Architecture space and as the subject matter expert for the ALDI AU business
  • Oversee the Data Engineering team, driving the development and maintenance of robust ETL/ELT pipelines to ensure timely, performant and accurate data delivery
  • Collaborate and partner with stakeholders & our National Data Office to implement and maintain strong data governance frameworks, ensuring data quality, lineage, and compliance with regulations
  • Promote a culture of innovation, constantly seeking ways to enhance the capabilities of the platform to support data science, machine learning, and AI use-cases

Qualifications

 

  • At least 10+ years’ experience in designing and building data platforms in Azure and/or other cloud environments, providing thought leadership in order to drive the maturity of ALDI’s Data & Analytics capabilities
  • A seasoned technical leader with experience managing large, cross-functional teams of engineers, architects, and data professionals
  • A proactive seeker of feedback who fosters personal and team growth through reflection and continuous improvement.
  • A clear, impactful communicator who informs, inspires, motivates and influences others to drive team success.
  • An inclusive collaborator who actively consults, resolves conflict as it arises and appreciates alternative perspectives and opinions.

Remuneration

  • Transparent tiered salary range of $216, 200 - $247, 100 including Superannuation.
