Job Description

The Job:  Senior Linux System Administrator (Data Center)

** This position is remote but must be local to our Santa Clara data center.

Agiloft is looking for a Senior Linux Systems Administrator that thrives working with large enterprises in multiple industries, with unique business challenges requiring sophisticated solution design 

Position Overview 

This is a mission-critical position requiring a well-rounded administrator who is passionate about learning and taking advantage of the latest technologies. You will be part of a team that is responsible for our Amazon AWS infrastructure design and migration, our KVM-based virtualized stack at a local data center, designing process improvements, network management, and administering the Linux servers used by our SaaS service, together with a handful of Windows servers (virtualized and on bare metal), along with the services they provide. The ideal candidate also has project management skills and experience in security standards such as FedRAMP.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage system engineering infrastructures such as the Amazon AWS, Ceph-based virtualized stack, and Linux servers
  • Design, propose, and implement process improvements for our networks
  • Support system engineering services and department initiatives
  • Maintain and support our systems to ensure compliance with security standards such as FedRAMP and SOC-2

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of full-time work experience as a system administrator
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Experience with Linux and virtualization
  • Familiarity with IPv4 networking, including DNS, SMTP/POP/IMAP, HTTP, LDAP, and SSH
  • Superior troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively between teams to ensure timely and roll out of system engineering initiatives and goals
  • Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation schedule with the rest of the team
  • Good judgment, and capacity to independently evaluate situations and identify the optimum course of action
  • High intelligence and creativity

Beneficial Skills

  • Experience with security standards such as FedRAMP and SOC-2
  • Python, Bash, or Perl scripting capabilities.
  • RBAC experiences such as SELinux, or GRSec
