Job Description
AHRC NY City is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to help conduct quality assurance reviews on their Brooklyn Adult Day Program.
Compensation Package: $55,000 per year plus a very generous and comprehensive Benefit Package. See additional Benefit information below.
Schedule: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm...in office.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Under the direction of the Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, will conduct quality assurance reviews of Adult Day Services programs to ensure adequate and appropriate service delivery.
- Ensure program staff are properly documenting person supported progress/lack thereof in records to support service enrollment, staff action plans, person centered goals and objectives in comparison to regulatory body and agency standards.
- Conduct monthly audits, interviews and evaluations to determine the quality impact of service provision. Review program and departmental processes to determine the impact on personal outcomes for the individuals served within department programs.
- Ensure that all monthly audits of program documentation meet all regulatory body and agency standards.
- Communicate findings with management of all programs and supervisor(s) verbally and in writing for the purpose of identifying, training, and or providing assistance to ensure program compliance and quality operation.
- Review program documentation to ensure compliance with billing standards, including the review of daily electronic service documentation to ensure the documentation meets program requirements prior to being exported.
- Work closely with department & regional leadership team to ensure effective operations of ADS programs, provide recommendations for quality improvements, process changes and training opportunities.
- Conduct audits of administrative processes within the department including quarterly reviews employee files and electronic client and staff files.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Regional & Departmental Leadership to discuss service process issues and review quality assurance matters.
- In collaboration with the Senior Quality Assurance Specialist, respond to program needs as they arise through development of curricula and provision of trainings separate and above from those done for regulatory compliance.
- Prevents or eliminates deficiencies in new or existing programs by performing quality improvement performance checks on a routine basis; communicates with the Director of Quality Assurance regarding the prioritization of QI checks, the type of format to be used and quantity of checks to be completed within each facility.
- Ensures the conformity with all requirements of the city, state and federal regulations and guidelines; ensures that programs conform to requirements as stated in the department’s policies and procedures manual; actively participates in all compliance surveys by performing compliance checks and implementing corrective actions.
- Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures in solving problems so as to ensure compliance with new and existing regulations.
- Cooperates with other administrative and management personnel in formulating and establishing department policies, operating procedures and goals.
- Attends facility specific QI meetings with team members to establish, delineate, and review the status of compliance within a particular facility as it relates to department policies/procedures; assists with the establishment of responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
- Reviews problems with procedures of sites and recommends to the Director of Quality Assurance solutions to problems or changes in procedures.
- Additional duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree and 2 years experience, or an Associate Degree with 5 years experience.
- Strong computer and statistical reporting skills essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills needed.
- Ability to effectively interact with colleagues, staff, people we support and other service stakeholders.
- Knowledge and/or experience of disability population highly desirable.
- Bilingual language skills a definite plus.
