Job Description

AHRC NYC is looking to hire a Behavioral Health Generalist ( BHG) for our Employment Business Services at our BROOKLYN location. The BHG position has a pay rate of between $35k - $40k a year and comes with a low-to-no cost, comprehensive health benefit package which is just one way that AHRC NYC supports the wellbeing of our employees and their families. JCC Clubhouse is looking for a creative, dynamic and community-focused individuals to provide direct support to adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities and mental illness in an innovative community-based program. JCC Clubhouse is using a person-centered approach to create working communities that help individuals to successfully manage their recovery. Candidates would join a team of 3 staff to create a holistic community of recovery that is focused of supports in the areas of employment, education as well as health and wellness.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Case management (25-30 people).
  • Individual vocational supports.
  • Engage individuals in the JCC clubhouse community as part of their rehabilitation.
  • Use the community to design positive interventions to deal with common barriers such as social isolation, poor self-esteem, anxiety, symptom management and poverty.
  • Outreach and recruitment.
  • Work in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required (Master’s degree is preferred).
  • Positive, dynamic and engaging personality.
  • Flexibility, as demonstrated by interchangeability with other staff on the unit, staying late or arriving early, if necessary to fulfill unit or member needs. Available on weekends at least once a month.
  • Working knowledge of mental illness.
  • Experience working in a community setting.
  • Non-clinical, community approach.
  • Driver's License preferred.
  • Bi-lingual preferred.
