We are seeking an experienced Control & Instrumentation Engineer to join our Energy team in Manila. In this role, you will be responsible for the engineering and design of control and instrumentation systems for renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and biomass power plants. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, clients, EPC contractors, and equipment suppliers to deliver high-quality engineering solutions from concept through detailed design and project execution.

 

Job Description

  • Prepare minimum technical specifications and conceptual design drawings for control systems (SCADA/DCS) and instrumentation for renewable energy projects to support procurement activities.
  • Develop detailed engineering designs, including SCADA/DCS architecture, I/O lists, instrument cable routing, cable schedules, and equipment layouts.
  • Review EPC contractor engineering deliverables, providing technical comments and recommendations on key documents such as:
    • Control system architecture
    • Control and instrumentation cable specifications
    • Weather station instrumentation
    • Cable routing drawings
    • Control panel layouts and diagrams
  • Conduct technical evaluations of bids and lead technical clarification meetings and negotiations with equipment suppliers prior to contract award.
  • Prepare and review technical reports, engineering documentation, and plant control and operational philosophies.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients, EPC contractors, and vendors to ensure designs comply with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Support engineering activities throughout project development, procurement, construction, commissioning, and testing phases.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable local regulations, international standards, and client specifications.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control & Instrumentation Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Engineer license (PRC) is preferred where applicable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in control and instrumentation engineering and design.
  • Proven experience working in an Owner's Engineer (OE), EPC, or EPCM environment.
  • Demonstrated experience preparing technical specifications, tender documentation, bid evaluations, vendor drawing reviews, and detailed engineering deliverables.
  • Good understanding of renewable energy power plants and associated electrical and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of SCADA and Distributed Control Systems (DCS) for power generation facilities.
  • Proficiency with NGCP SCADA requirements and testing procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with AutoCAD is required, while knowledge of PVsyst or similar engineering software is an advantage.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary and multinational project teams.
