Job Description

Our Transportation section at AFRY is growing and is looking for a new Road Planner. We work on projects at all planning stages and collaborate with municipal, state, and private clients. Our projects range from small street developments to major transportation projects such as the Ring 1 Hammersborg Tunnel, Vaterland Tunnel, and E18 Langangen – Rugtvedt.

The section consists of 10 employees based in Oslo. We offer great development opportunities through projects and provide courses, professional groups, and seminars. You will be an important contributor to strengthening and further developing our road planning efforts, with a particular focus on design-build contracts

You key responsibilities are:

  • Designing 3D road models in BIM technology, including urban streets, municipal access roads, county roads, and highways.
  • Developing project work methodologies.
  • Close collaboration with clients, with opportunities for project/discipline leadership.
  • Bill of Quantities.
  • Designing and coding models (attribute data) according to the current BIM manual.
  • Produce technical drawings for road alignments in AutoCAD, e.g plan and longitudinal profiles and cross sectional views. 
  • Coordinate with and participate in inter-disciplinary reviews with other disciplines such as geotechnics, water and drainage and structures. 

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Good English language skills
  • Relevant master’s degree.
  • At least 5 years of experience in road infrastructure design.
  • Technical knowledge of road and street design and experience in designing according to various standards and governing documents.
  • Good knowledge of AutoCAD
  • Experience with design tools (Novapoint, C3D or ORD)

Good to have:

  • Basic knowledge of Norwegian language
  • Past experience in the Norwegian market
  • Knowledge of Novapoint software
  • Knowledge of Microstation software
  • Experience in parametric design
